Winter is a wonderful time in the Dales. Most years, the snow does not lie on the ground. When it does, it is breathtakingly beautiful. Not the wet, slushy snow in the suburbs, but dry crisp snow, similar to a ski resort.

Rowleth End is right on the main access road for the valley, and is on the list of major roads to receive priority attention.
Winter is an excuse to light the fires in the dining and drawing rooms. And to spend more time on eating and drinking, convivial conversation or maybe simply reading a good book.
